Team of the month May 2019: The dishwashing employees of the Borgh. Because these colleagues are always behind the scenes, they went to Skidome in Rucphen as a token of our appreciation. They had a great time!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

David Ardon has been an intern at the Borgh for over a year now. In his last school year at the Rooi Pannen in Breda, he is now doing a 32-hour internship at our beautiful company. Under the guidance of tutor Frank Dillisse, David is already a highly valued employee. A nice colleague and despite his young age a very good and talented host. Many guests have already noticed that. After his internship he will continue working at the Borgh. The photo is a silent witness of it. Finishing your studies is ofcourse a priority, so we wish you good luck these last few months! EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

We have a new employee of the month at the Borgh. And that is Marja Thiele, who works here since 1 January 2003, the very beginning. The Borgh wasn’t even built yet. Marja works mainly during the day; takes care of the breakfast buffet for the hotel guests, cleans on Mondays and also works at various parties. Marja is a great example of a loyal employee for over 15 years now. She is a mother of three sons and also a proud grandmother. She is married to Henk who since recently has some more free time, so more time to do fun things together. Marja you have earned a dinner for two, please let us know when we can reserve a table for you! Congratulations!!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

After all the festive days in December, we have another employee of the month. We had very many guests in December at the Borgh. So everyone was asked to work extra, especially our kitchen team. Especially Nick van Leent has made many extra hours in the rinse kitchen . And that is why Nick is our employee of the month! Nick is almost 17 years old and has been working at the Borgh for over a year now. He works efficient and fast and that is very much appreciated. The dishes pile up fast and it is not always the best job to do. But Nick knows how to handle it! Nick is studying at the Markland College and is very fond of football. In the evenings and weekends he works at the Borgh. Nick congratulations on your election as an employee of the month! You are welcome to come and have a dinner for two, or come and have lunch with your family.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

For more than a year now Tim is our colleague. Mostly as a front desk employee and that is why he is already a familiar face for many guests. At the end of 2016 Tim was eagerly looking for an internship in the final year of his education. We did not have a vacancy at the time, but because Tim continued to contact us, we gave him that internship position anyway. After his internship, he also worked at the Borgh during the summer months. After that we did not have a vacancy at the reception desk. But when one of our reception colleagues suddenly decided to go and work abroad, we contacted Tim. Tim is a nice colleague and a good host. Tim is a football fan and supporter of Feyenoord. This festive December month Tim is in the spotlight despite the fact that he is not a fan of Christmas music. Tim congratulations and if you can find time in these busy December weeks, you are welcome to enjoy a delicious dinner (for 2) in our restaurant.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

For many years now Roos works at the Borgh and she is highly appreciated by colleagues and guests. Roos is a super friendly, hospitable, professional colleague and very willing to work extra. Roos studies Cultural Anthropology. This school year is her last year and because she has less hours at school, she has more time to work at the Borgh. And we are very happy with that. That is why she is employee of the month October 2018. She also loves the burgundian lifestyle, so dinner for two is well spent on her. Congratulations Roos!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

This month our employee of the month is Kimberley Visser. She has been working at the Borgh for over a year now and certainly a valued colleague. She started as a breakfast employee, but now also works in the restaurant, the sports hall and at various parties. Besides working full-time, she also likes to go out with friends and eating out is also a big hobby. Kimberley is a loyal colleague, who certainly wants to fill in an extra shift and then it is useful if you can work on multiple fronts. Because at the Borgh there is always something to do (fortunately). Congratulations and we look forward to your visit to our restaurant for a well earned dinner for two!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Also in this warm and sunny holiday month we have an employee of the month at the Borgh, Stephan Cornelisse. This month he works at the Borgh for 10 years and therefore a familiar face in our team. He started with an employment of 12 hours, then 20 hours, eventually 32 hours and already full-time for years now. Stephan is someone we can build on and is very flexible when necessary. Enthusiast and connoisseur of specialty beers and organizer of our annually returning Bock beer Festival, this year on 14 October! He lives together with his girlfriend Maud, who is one of our regular cooks. And Stephan is a very big fan of AJAX, our soccer team from Amsterdam.Stephan you’ve also earned a free dinner in our restaurant, please let us know when to reserve a table for two!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Christine Harmsen has been a colleague at the Borgh (and Proost) for 7 years now. She did not have any catering experience, but she was eager to start working for us. Started as a breakfast employee and now active in the restaurant during the day and evening and also at various parties. She is a spontaneous, cheerful colleague who also doesn’t mind to work an extra shift sometimes. Even when it is a last minute call. In addition, every Thursday she works at our café Proost. And even there she is now a familiar face to many of our regular guests. Christine is also mother of Esmee and Wouter and therefore has a full agenda; but planning is her middle name ;-) ! She also likes to go out once in a while and with carnival she prefers to party on for 5 days; and she is not the only one at the Borgh who likes to do so! Christine, congratulations! You are very welcome to come and have dinner with your family in our restaurant.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Since November last year Patricia works at the Borgh. We are very happy to have her back as our colleague, in 2005 and 2006 she worked in our kitchen. Patricia is often at work in our sports hall, but she also is a waitress in our restaurant. Patricia works very hard and is always cheerful and friendly. A very nice colleague and we hope she stays with us longer than she did the first time. Patricia is a proud mother of her son Jip, she plays soccer in Seolto's ladies team and she is a fanatical PSV supporter. Patricia, you have earned a dinner for 2! Congratulations!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

For a while now Sjoerd works in the rinse kitchen at the Borgh. For now only in the afternoon after school because Sjoerd is only 15 years old. We are very proud that Sjoerd’s first job is with us. He works neatly and well and is always polite and cheerful and certainly willing to work an extra shift. We hope you will stay with us for a long time! You have earned a lunch together with your father, mother and brother. So next time you come to work, you can make a reservation right away! Congratulations!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Mike has been working at the Borgh for many years now. Started as an intern and since last year a full-time colleague. After several attempts to continue studying, he found out that he would rather work full-time. He is not only a receptionist, but also a waiter in our restaurant and during various parties. Mike is also responsible for the rental of the sports accommodation. A diversity of activities and that is exactly what Mike aspires. After a bad event last year and an injury to his arm, Mike seems to be doing well again. He can play tennis and workout again (his great passion) and in his work he improves every day. That is a positive thing and we are very happy with that! That is why Mike is employee of the month of April 2018. Mike, you have earned a dinner for two!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

This month our sous-chef Jeroen Leijten is employee of the month. For over 7 years now he is in permanent employment of the Borgh. Jeroen is a very nice and very social colleague who understands his job well. Recently he turned 30 and moved into his first own house in Zevenbergen. Unfortunately Jeroen couldn’t join us with carnival because of the flu. Jeroen is a big fan of our Big Green Egg in the kitchen. All our meat dishes are prepared on it. In addition, Jeroen is also the contact person for our catering services that we offer in association with Partyservice Nelis in and around Zevenbergen. In the photo Jeroen is busy catering his friends and family during a private party, hence that glass of beer! He is a very good cook and we are very happy to have him as a colleague. You’ve deserved a dinner for two Jeroen, well done!

TEAM OF THE MONTH

This month we don’t have just one employee of the month, but there are more than 40 employees of the month. The entire Borgh team did a great job! January 2018 was a very good month! Many New Year's receptions, many hotel guests, big parties in our restaurant, many sports competitions and even a training internship of the national fencing association, not to mention the 5th edition of “het Bont Gemauw” !! And with so many guests... you have to stand strong and act like a team and they did just that! In recent years several well-respected colleagues left our team but that created opportunities for the rest of the colleagues. Eventually we have no vacancies left and we now again have a team that we are so very proud of.
As a token of appreciation we will go on a pub crawl during carnival with the whole team in our own town Zevenbergen (called Zeuvebultelaand during carnival). We can party just as hard as we can work!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Also in this new year we have another employee of the month; Mike Tiebout! For over two years he works at the Borgh and also very often at Proost.
Graduated as a teacher in gymnastics but he is also enthusiastic and hospitable in the catering industry. Mike is a very valued colleague, always friendly, collegial and if possible always willing to work some extra services.

Unfortunately, in 2 months he emigrates to France, together with his girlfriend Laura and their children. They are going to work at the campsite where they have met eachother. A whole new exciting challenge. We will miss him and Laura very much but we wish them all the best and good luck in France! Mike you were a great colleague and we will enjoy working with you these last few months. Enjoy your dinner with Laura!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Ofcourse in this festive month we have another employee of the month. And that is Lars van der Horst. Lars has been working at the Borgh for almost 4 years now. And he is only 19 years old! Started in the dishes and now he works almost 2 years as a waiter. Lars is a very correct and tidy guy, who is always willing to work an extra shift, ofcourse if his schoolwork allows it. In the weekend he works 1 or 2 evenings in the restaurant and sometimes also an extra shift during the week. Because there are some colleagues who are quitting their jobs at our café Proost, Lars will also be a waiter there, starting in 2018. Another new challenge! Lars, thank you very much for all your good work, you have earned a dinner for 2 at the Borgh!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Kevin works full time as an independent chef in our kitchen team. As many of our colleagues, Kevin started as a trainee and has been an employee of de Borgh for seven years now. Kevin lives with his girlfriend Inge in Zevenbergen. In particular during last year Kevin has made a lot of progress in his work. Preparing warm and cold dishes, excellent in administration and in addition, he is also our handyman when something doesn’t work as it should. Kevin will fix it! Kevin is also very good in educating new colleagues and trainees. He has also contributed to the layout and design of our recently rebuilt kitchen. A very motivated colleague, always working hard to get the best result. That is what de Borgh stands for, and Kevin as well! Enjoy your well deserved dinner Kevin!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Many guests of the Borgh know Frank very well. Almost 10 years ago he began working with us and completed his internship of 1 year. And finally from the beginning of 2012 Frank is full time in service of the Borgh. Frank has worked as a first employee of F & B and is responsible for the restaurant section in de Borgh. He is also responsible for the trainees. Horeca is his life and he proves daily that work can become a hobby! Frank is a valued colleague and employee who takes responsibility. And that's why he is our employee of the month of October 2017. Frank, we like to hear when you come and enjoy your colleagues' hospitality at your deserved dinner for two in de Borgh!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

For many years now Angelique Verhoef works at de Borgh. For over 18 months, she is responsible for lunch at our Proost lunch cafe as a cook. In addition, she is also still active at de Borgh. Preparing breakfast for our hotel guests, catering activities and all kinds of other activities. On her own initiative, Angelique reorganized the way we store our kitchen materials. A clean and tidy workplace, that is what Angelique thinks is important. Both in Proost and in de Borgh. Many lunch guests at Proost and all her colleagues appreciate her very much. That is why Angelique is our employee of the month this month. And there's a dinner for 2 in our restaurant de Borgh!

AUGUST 2017

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Matthieu has been working at de Borgh for almost 12 years now. He started as a cook and later on he became a sous chef. Now he is the chef in our kitchen. Matthieu is married to Barbara and has two kids, named Sepp and Dido. Matthieu manages his kitchen team very well, and educates our trainees together with Maud. He makes the menu, which changes regularly at de Borgh. Also he manages all purchases for the kitchen, and keeps in mind acceptable margins, without forgetting the quality of the products we use. Matthieu is a big fan of the Big Green Egg. We prepare all meat dishes on it. And ofcourse Matthieu is an excellent cook. Because of him our guests are always very happy with what we serve them.  Matthieu, enjoy your dinner for two!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

For over 11 years, Jolanda has worked in our beautiful company. For that many years, Jolanda is always busy to improve things and to make sure we get better in what we do everyday. We appreciate that very much in her. In the last few years, she is mostly at work in the morning (breakfast) and during the daytime. During the day there is plenty to do in our company! She places orders for cleaning supplies and everything for our breakfast buffet. She makes sure the entourage for weddings, meetings, funerals and business lunches are in order. She refreshes the flowers in the restaurant and also does cleaning work. A lot of things that most people may not notice, but are very important. Details make the difference. And those details are in good hands with Jolanda. Reason enough to be a member of the month! Jolanda, together with Jack, you have earned a dinner for 2. Thank you for your effort, your contemplation and setting the example for many of our colleagues.

The employee of this month is Jerome Withagen. He does the dishes and assists our chefs with
various activities in the kitchen. He has decided to follow an education to become a chef, because he
likes the weekendjob and wants to make it his future job. Jerome is always willing to work extra and
we are very happy he is our colleague. Jerome, keep up the good work and enjoy your dinner for two!

This month our colleague of the month is Jolanda van Gils, who works at de Borgh for over 10 years!
She is one of our well known faces in the restaurant, but also at parties, Jolanda is often there. She is
always friendly and a valued employee by many guests and colleagues. In addition, she also has a
breakfast service on a regular basis. One of the things we appreciate Jolanda is the fact that she is
always prepared to work an extra shift en helps wherever she can. That's why Jolanda has earned a
dinner together with her husband Jack. Enjoy it!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

This month we have 2 employees of the month at de Borgh. They are Nikki Bilsen and Berend Reniers.
They both work in the lavatory kitchen and assist in all kinds of cooking in the kitchen.
Doing the dishes is a part of our company that many guests do not get to see. And it is often an
underestimated job. But you have to start somewhere you could say. Nikki has distinguished herself
positively over the past month because she cleans the dirty dishes quickly and neatly. In addition, she
also helps to polish and she never complains. She's spontaneous and always smiling!
Berend is also a very valued colleague. He is often prepared to work an extra shift and he assists with
all kinds of work in the kitchen. And he learns everything very quickly. A good colleague with a right
attitude and that is very much appreciated. You are co-employee of the month of April!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Sophie started more than 5 years doing dishes at de Borgh. Now she has been an assistant chef for
over a year. After completing the CIOS degree, she now follows Speco at the Fontys College in Tilburg.
Sophie has proven that a job in the catering industry industry can be lots of fun. She can work well on
her own and is in charge of the whole cold side in the kitchen. She is always willing to work extra if
requested. Sophie is an example for many students with a career in our industry! You have earned a
dinner for two and we hope you will stay with us for a few more years.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Debby has been working for Hotel de Borgh for a while now, and has been employed full time since
March 2016, as a successor to Mara Dijkhoff. Debby is responsible for the reception. She is always
hospitable, friendly and smiling. Very much appreciated by our guests and ofcourse by her colleagues.
She’s always thinking of ways how to make things better. Her ideas for 2017 were well worked out, so
we can definitely work with that. Debby you deserved a dinner for two, enjoy!

Chantal Cornelisse is a real “handywoman”. She manages our sports hall, prepares parties, serves
lunch and keeps everything clean and tidy in and outside de Borgh. And she does everything with a
